.
Ever since she stormed the music floodgates in 1995 with her award-winning, platinum-selling debut album, Jagged Little Pill, Alanis Morissette has been a divisive character. The Canadian singer/songwriter returns with her first album in four years, Havoc and Bright Lights, on August 28th, and today Morissette dropped the video for the album’s first single, “Guardian.” Upon viewing her new visual, we’re thinking it’s not going to sway one’s opinion of the singer one way or the other. Frankly, if you appreciated Morissette’s warbly, abnormal vocal back in the day, then you’re in for a treat — she returns in fine form. But if “Ironic” is a song you rush to turn off whenever it arrives on your radio, well, “Guardian” might not be up your alley. Watch Alanis Morissette’s new video for “Guardian” below..

Travie McCoy finally responds to Katy Perry diss track
by Emily Zemler Oct 01, 2010 at 1:49 PM
By now you’ve heard Katy Perry’s angry anthem, “Circle The Drain,” and probably heard that it’s likely based on her relationship with Travie McCoy. With lines like “You fall asleep during foreplay/Cause the pills you take, are more your forte/I’m not sticking around to watch you go down,” the track has a pretty clear message and seemingly refers to McCoy, who has publicly struggled with pill addition and checked into rehab two years ago while still dating Perry.
Perry hasn’t exactly admitted that the track is about McCoy, but she did tell Billboard, “It’s kind of like my ‘You Oughta Know,’ Alanis Morissette moment.” Since its release there’s been no response from McCoy in regards to the song and its blatant lyrics—until now. MTV News spoke with McCoy earlier this week in New York and asked him about “Circle the Drain.”
